Applied Tech PN Advisory Council Meeting – Thursday, October 20, 2016
A cornerstone in developing and implementing high quality occupational education, advisory councils serve to tie the needs of business and industry to a school’s instructional objectives and are essential in ensuring educational programs fully meet the needs of the community.
Applied Tech’s Practical Nursing program advisory council meeting was held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at SSD’s central office in Town & Country and included 29 advisory council members from long-term care facilities, health centers, rehabilitation hospitals, and home health care.
Algonquin Nurses Home Health Care and Festus Manor were presented awards in recognition for their continued support to practical nursing education with Applied Tech.
Council members reviewed and discussed Applied Tech’s mission, vision, key performance indicators, curriculum updates, clinical partnerships, technology and students resources, faculty and professional development, as well as workforce placement. Information regarding the next PN advisory council meeting, Health Career Expo, and the announcement of Applied Tech PN program celebrating 25 years in practical nursing education were also shared.
The faculty and staff at Applied Tech would like to thank the members of the advisory council for their continued dedication in strengthening our PN program by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and supporting students in becoming successful nurses.
